Calm, compassionate support for anxiety, overwhelm and emotional healing

If you've arrived here from one of my videos, welcome.

I'm Charis, a psychotherapeutic counsellor and accredited EFT practitioner working online across the UK.

Many people who find me are feeling stuck in cycles of anxiety, stress, overwhelm, self-criticism or emotional exhaustion. They may have spent years trying different things to get unstuck, only to find themselves returning to the same patterns again and again.

It is possible to move beyond these patterns and towards meaningful, lasting change. As a qualified counsellor, accredited EFT practitioner and person who genuinely wants the best for you, I am here to support and guide you on that journey and help you achieve the change you want for yourself.

You can create meaningful, lasting change in your life, sometimes we just need the right support, understanding and tools to help us get there, and that is what I aim to provide.

What is EFT?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is an evidence-based mind-body approach that combines therapeutic exploration with gentle tapping on acupressure points.

Many people find that FT helps reduce the emotional intensity of difficult thoughts, feelings, memories and beliefs while helping the body feel calmer and more regulated.

EFT helps you to to tune into the problem and to work through and process it in a way that feels safe.

What A Session Is Like

Sessions are available online and in person.

You bring the issue you would like to work with, this can be anything you want. It could be a belief, emotional pattern, physical pain, difficult memory - really anything that feels heavy or stuck.

We begin by just talking, exploring how the issue shows up for you in your thoughts, feelings and your body.

I listen carefully to understand as fully as possible how the issue is experienced in your inner world.

You tap on specific points on your face and upper body while I guide you through the process step by step. I tap along on myself at the same time to demonstrate the sequence, so there is no pressure to remember anything or worry about doing it “right”.

As you tap, I reflect back thoughts, feelings and phrases using your own words and language, which you repeat out loud. By saying these things out loud, while tapping, you are giving voice to your inner experience while feeling safe. This might be the first time you've said it out loud and is the first step towards lightening the load.

How does it work?

As you tap and speak aloud your experience, the nervous system begins to feel calmer and more regulated, creating space for difficult emotions and patterns to be explored safely and gently. Within this space, old patterns, emotional responses or thoughts that may once have felt automatic or fixed can begin to soften and shift, opening up new possibilities for change.

EFT blends somatic (body-based) and cognitive (mind-based) processing, helping to regulate the nervous system while exploring thoughts, emotions, beliefs and memories. By working with both the body and mind together, many people find they are able to access and shift patterns at a depth that can sometimes feel difficult to reach through talking alone.

Thought patterns or beliefs that may have felt stuck can begin to change, and new insights, perspectives and ways of responding can emerge. Over time, EFT can help people move beyond limiting beliefs, emotional blocks and old ways of coping that no longer serve them.

Many people report feeling lighter, clearer, more connected to themselves and more able to move forward with greater freedom, choice and hope.

How I Work

Safety and acceptance

Creating a space where you feel accepted, respected and emotionally safe is central to everything I do.

Collaboration

You are the expert on your own experience.

My role is to listen, to walk alongside you, and to help you explore and develop your own insights and create new possibilities for change.

Meaningful, lasting change

In my experience, the combination of feeling safe, accepted and able to voice our truth out loud can create space for innate wisdom and self-compassion to emerge. People often find new insights, deeper understanding of how past experiences have shaped them, and a growing ability to relate to themselves with greater compassion, authenticity and ease.
