I'm Charis, a counsellor and aEFT practitioner. I work online and in my office in Slaithwaite.

I aim to provide a space where you can bring whatever is important to you, exactly as you are.

There is no thought, feeling or experience that is too much to bring into the room.

You might be struggling with anxiety, low-mood, self-doubt, relationship difficulties or the ongoing effect of difficult past experiences. You might feel stuck and not really know why. Whatever it is that brings you here, I am here to help and support you.

Change Is Possible

I can offer frameworks to help make sense of your experiences, and tools to support you in developing resilience and self-compassion.

But above all, I aim to meet you with acceptance and stability. I am genuinely committed to understanding and supporting you and, no matter what you have been through, I believe in your capacity for growth and change.


My aim is to provide  a space where you feel safe enough to explore difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences. When we can do this, we can find that they can loosen their grip, and we create space for new perspectives and possibilities to emerge.




What I offer

Different approaches can support change in different ways.

Counselling

Counselling offers a space to explore your thoughts, feelings, experiences and relationships in greater depth. Together, we can develop a better understanding of what is happening in your life, how past experiences may be influencing the present and what changes you would like to make moving forward.

Many people find that counselling helps them gain clarity, self-understanding and a greater sense of choice in how they respond to life's challenges.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)

EFT is an evidence-based mind-body approach that combines therapeutic conversation with gentle tapping on acupressure points.

It can help regulate the nervous system whilst exploring emotions, beliefs, memories and patterns that may be contributing to how you feel.

Many people find that EFT allows them to process difficult experiences and create meaningful shifts more quickly than talking alone.

Which is right for me?

Some people know exactly which approach they would like to try. Others are unsure.

Many clients choose counselling, EFT, or a combination of both. We can discuss what feels most appropriate for you and tailor our work to your individual needs.

How I Work

I do not believe that people are ever somehow fundamentally wrong or broken, although I do understand that it can really feel that way.

The thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviours we struggle with often make sense when viewed in the context of our lives and the experiences we have had.

My aim is to provide a relationship that feels safe enough to explore these experiences honestly, to understand how they may have shaped you, and to consider what role they may continue to play in your life.

Together, we can explore what has brought you to this point. My hope is that, through a relationship grounded in acceptance, compassion and understanding, you may discover new ways of relating to yourself and your experiences, creating greater freedom to let go of what no longer serves you and move towards what matters most to you.
